In the village of Kenawat, in the Gayo region of Sumatra, this coffee comes to life through the efforts of Fahman Yoga, a local producer who works with Adena to restore value to the coffee of his community. Sourced both from his own farm and from neighboring farmers, the coffee is grown in agroforestry systems, under the shade of multiple tree species.
The cherries are hand-picked, carefully sorted, and gently dried on raised beds, a challenging process in such a humid climate. In a region marked by challenges and transformation, this project helps revitalize the community and bring Kenawat back onto the specialty coffee map.
